15. At last …Greg Meets a Warrick Car

Though Greg Warrick and I enjoyed plenty email communications and phonecalls, we’d never met. So we arranged to meet – and to reunite his family with a part of their heritage, this 1914 Warrick Motor Carrier – at the Bristol Classic Bike Show at Shepton Mallet, on 14th February 2009.

The history of obscure vehicle manufacturers is my main leisure-time activity, so I always enjoy meeting and chatting to other researchers. But it’s slightly different meeting a descendant of a manufacturer that I’ve put so much time into studying. It was a wonderful moment.

What made it extra special is that Greg has also been actively researching the history of John Warrick, and has done so extremely efficiently. But we each had a different focus. So our results filled in the missing parts of each others’ research.

I feel my work on the John Warrick website is now more-or-less complete.
